I love how truly unique each and every wedding I attend is. Matt and Vanessa’s wedding on Saturday contained traditional elements and contemporary trends, all mixed together with their own personal flavour to create a very memorable day.
Matt and Vanessa had two ceremonies - the first a traditional Catholic ceremony at the beautiful Guardian Angels Church in Southport complete with three string musicans playing classical music. The second was a lovely outdoor hand tying ceremony set in the pitcuresque gardens of the Sherton Marina Mirage that finished with fire dancers to add to the visual spectacle.
During the reception that followed, Matt and Vanessa’s own sense of style, personality and sense of humour continued to shine. Their speeches were awesome not only for their content but because they chose to deliver them they way the intended to spend the rest of their lives, together and supporting each other. They stood, together as husband and wife taking turns presenting a paragraph each of beautifully crafted oratory they had obviously spent countless hours working on.
They cut the cake to to Married with Children’s “Love and Marriage” which was warmly received and drew a chuckle from all the guests.
The song of choice for the first dance was equally unique. They selected the theme song from tv series Scrubs “I’m no superman.” Then as a surprise for Vanessa’s mum they revealed they had taken some dance lessons and went on to dance to a more traditional song.
And last but not least, I can’t forget the hoola hooping bride.
The wedding videographer for the day was Barwick Multimedia – hopefully matt will post a highlights reel on line once he has edited the footage. If he does I will be sure to post a link to it.
I will post more pictures from this wedding later in the week.
