I awoke last Saturday to the unusual sight of big black clouds and heavy rain on the Gold Coast. Normally I would quite enjoy the change of pace, but today was Andy and Monica’s wedding day and the rain looked like it had set in and was here to stay.
I started thinking about the cool portraits I could make by rocking some multiple off camera flash in the parking basement of the apartment complex where Andy and Monica were getting married if we couldn’t get outside. These would be far from “traditional” wedding photos but I was sure they were going to be visually stunning.
By time the afternoon rolled around though, the rain had gone, but the menacing dark clouds were still in full effect, which provided an awesome backdrop for our photos. Mother nature was even kind enough to let a few rays of sun shine through a little every now and then.
The day ended with Andy and Monica nailing their first dance and giving me the opportunity to capture one of my favourite photos of the day.
If you haven’t seen them already, don’t forget to check out Andy and Monica’s engagment photo shoot here.

That is some serious bling
