Porsche Camp4 Travel Club

This was the last contract I did for Porsche before leaving the USA. I really did have one of the best jobs in the world. Great cars, great location, great co-workers, great clients and most importantly a great boss that allowed me to get out my camera every now and then so I could capture these awesome moments. What more could you ask for?

Porsche built a race track into a snow covered golf course on the mountain to demonstrate the capabilities of their Carrera4 and Cayenne in these freezing cold slippery conditions. Participants paid to come and take a three day training program and everybody left with a huge smile on their faces.

Porsche also run one of these winter driving programs in Finland ever year. Click here for more information on the Porsche Travel Club and the programs the offer all over the world. I can’t reccomend them highly enough.

I have to admit, the hardest part about writing this blog so far has been choosing my 3 or 4 favourtie images to display on this page then picking another twenty five for the gallery. Well for this event I failed miserably and have only managed to cut it down to ninety odd photos for the gallery LOL The good news is I set the slide speed to 2 seconds so it should take less than four minutes to check em all out.

Panoz Racing School R.I.P.

These images were taken at the Panoz Racing School, which, sadly, is no longer. In 2007 it was taken over and absorbed into the evil empire known as Skip Barber.

The School was based at the Road Atlanta and Sebring race tracks. While the school is gone hopefully these two great historic race tracks will be around for many more yet. However if you get the chance to visit one of these tracks don’t put it off as urban sprawl is already sadly making the long term future of Road Atlanta look shakey at best.

Again clicking on any of the pictures will take you to a gallery of more images.

Viper Racing League

The Viper Racing League is a amatuer club based racing series for enthusiasts to let their V10 Vipers loose on the race track. It has proved to be an excellent training ground as 18 drivers from this series have gone on to race in the Professional Speed World Challenge series. Two of them gained rookie of the year awards.

And yes – these cars are as much fun to drive as the look.

Ferrari Challenge

I spent a few years coaching several drivers in the Ferrari Challenge Series. These photos are of one of my favourite clients and good friend Mike Zoi. Mike went on to win the championship in 2007. Be sure to check out his company at www.ener1group.com They are involved in some very interesting businesses.

The Ferrari Challenge car is a lot of fun, it handles like a big go kart and combined with the F1 style paddle shift it is a very easy race car to drive on the track.  Which does make you wonder why there ar so many crashesin this series???
